Some of you may have heard me talk before about personality diversity and how different people communicate in different ways.
This coming Friday Mark Wilkinson and Lewis Senior will be presenting a free session on exactly this topic, as part of Mark's "Remixed series", and I'd like to extend an invitation for you to attend.
There are two sessions to choose from, at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., covering E-Colours and communication.
If you've ever found yourself thinking "Why don't people seem to hear what I'm saying?", this can be a real eye-opener.
The truth is, most communication problems aren't communication problems at all, they're understanding problems. We assume that because we've said something, someone has heard exactly what we meant.
They haven't. They've heard it through their own experiences, beliefs and personality, which is why two people can sit in the same meeting and walk away with completely different interpretations. Neither is wrong, they're simply processing the world differently.
One of the biggest shifts I've experienced was understanding personality through E-Colours. Some people want the headlines, others want every detail. Some want certainty before deciding, others want possibilities.
The mistake we make is assuming everyone communicates the way we do. That's where the frustration creeps in:
"I thought I was being clear,"
"Why didn't they just tell me?",
"They're not listening."
The reality is they probably were, just differently.
This session, Mark and Lewis will explore why people hear the same message differently, how E-Colours shape every conversation, and practical techniques you can start using immediately at work, at home, and in every relationship that matters.
They'll cover:
- Why people interpret the same message differently
- How personality shapes communication
- The hidden causes of misunderstanding and conflict
- Practical tools to communicate with confidence and clarity
Because better conversations create better teams, better leaders, better families, better lives.
