Hands Free. More Done.
The Mac App That Completely Changed the Way I Work
Whilst doing a course about Claude and Cowork over the last week or so, I was introduced to a Mac app that completely changed the way I work.
Like, hands down.
Hold down one key and it transcribes exactly what you're saying, word for word. Hold down the key next to it as well, and it takes all of your ramblings and turns them into something much more coherent and meaningful.
For someone like me, who has a habit of going off on tangents (yes, I know I do, it's a Yellow colour tendency in E-Colours personality terms), it's been an absolute godsend.
For people who are neurodivergent or dyslexic, this could be genuinely life-changing.
What It Looks Like After Just 10 Days
Here's my usage breakdown after 10 days with the app, and it tells quite a story:
- 25,006 words spoken. That's the same length as the script of Finding Nemo.
- 333 minutes saved. Time I didn't spend typing. That's a lot of value.
- 532 "postcards" created. If my thoughts had stamps, they'd be all over the world by now.
- 125,030 key presses skipped. Less stress on your hands, and fewer jumps on your spacebar. (Worth noting if you're managing RSI.)
- Equivalent typing speed: 2,501 words per minute. Basically my own podcast, minus the intro music.
- Dictation style: The Doer. Don't overthink it. Keep moving. Make it happen.
The App: Willow Voice
It's called Willow Voice, and it's available for Mac and iOS.
Here's the link to try it for yourself:

Here's to all the time saved.
